We've been conditioned to think there is something wrong with us, that we are sinners, that we need self improvement and so on. However, what if our conditioning is that's "wrong?" I'd like to suggest that this is the case and that it is only by being oneself - minus all that conditioning - that we can ever perform our daily duty. That in fact, Being Ourselves IS our Daily Duty. Thus, the question becomes, "Who are we?"

Overcoming Social Anxiety and Depression

This week on The Finding Freedom Podcast a beautiful soul suggested discussing thoughts on social anxiety and depression. The Buddha stated, "Life is Suffering" AND, he also taught, "There is a way to end suffering". Thich Naht Han wrote the book, No Mud No Lotus, The Art of Transforming Suffering. These enlightened beings know the struggle of being human. They point to the wisdom beyond duality, to the peace, love and infinite expansion of self realization.

If you're feeling alone, as if something is wrong with you, please know that you are absolutely not alone, that the experience of struggle and challenge is part and parcel of being human... and in fact you are already free! Here. Now. As Presence.

We've been conditioned to prioritize that which encourages stagnation and suffering, to seek externally, however, the art of living is very simple and the key to freedom is actually who you are. 🕊

How do I differentiate between Ego and Higher Self?

Happy New Year lovely friends! Thank you to the beautiful soul who posed the excellent question: "How do I differentiate between Ego & Higher Self?" It's crucial to know the difference if we wish to transcend the mind and abide in the peace that passeth all understanding.

The good news is there are no mistakes - all paths lead to the same destination, some paths long & roundabout, others more direct... absolutely speaking there isn't even a path! How can this be? The world is maya. So, when we see through the illusion we are instantly free. This can happen spontaneously, though grace or using world/mind to transcend the world/mind.

Eventually we learn to abide in the depth of our essence, dis-identified from ego/mind/world so that the waves of duality/happiness/unhappiness are simply small ripples on the surface... which hold no allure. The essence of everything is the same but it appears in many forms and names.
